Kevin of ‘Kevin’s Thoughts’

Kevin is pretty much like you – perhaps he is one of the many voices in your head – not good or evil – not edifying or justifying – more curious and concerned – Kevin’s thoughts typically address a wide arrange of topics similar, but not limited to…

…the spontaneous events and conundrums of the day.

…observations and questions consequential to society, culture, and the pulse of the nation.

…the Church wrestling for footing against ‘church stuff’.

…the funny, foolish, flattery, and flippant that is the human condition.

So, why does Kevin feel the need to share his thoughts? About a dozen years ago, Kevin discovered the many venues of life are (mostly) not at all what he thought they were – this revelation stimulated Kevin’s curiosity and concern, which has evolved into ‘Kevin’s Thoughts’ – here are some bullets that identify the fame from which Kevin views the world around him:

  • 60+ year old white male, married (38+ yrs), father of adult children, grandfather.
  • Follower of Christ, desiring to be the Church He left on earth.
  • Retired active duty military for 27+ years culminating into a Command Sergeant Major – still working, treading financial waters until full retirement.
  • Five combat deployments totaling 64 months – Kevin has some deployment related issues.

What are the things that keep Kevin up at night, and subsequently motive him to draft his thoughts:

  • Inequality – all things pretending to be equal, that are truly unequal.
  • Abuse – abuse of power, the weak, the system, the Church.
  • Humor – life and people are freakishly funny and enjoyable – worthy of being captured.
  • Love and Kindness – characteristics of Christ, enough said.
  • Kevin’s awareness of his own vulnerabilities and disappointments.

Kevin’s less weighty interests and topics

  • Family, friends and fellowship.
  • Entertainment, movies, music and sports.
  • Adventures, vacations and activities.
  • Discoveries – lesson’s learned – personal growth.
